Visual Development College Project

I started digital art seriously in college and immediately wanted to learn more! I’ve learned so much while working with other creative minds, it was one of the best parts of this program. I have always loved cartoons, animations and films in general, the story telling and being able to convey such complex emotions within still images is just amazing.

With that in mind, I decided to do Visual Development for a animated tv series for teens. I had to create a story, characters, props, environments, a project proposal and invoicing.

Petra : A story from the floating Islands of Earth, thousands of years after disaster struck

The last three months of college was dedicated to personal projects that would allow for practice in what we wanted to pursue afterwards.

Kids of the Island

My Story follows a group of siblings. Practicing character design and turnarounds. Daily figure drawing helped with the speed of each illustration.

Good and Evil

I had so much fun creating the plotline for this story and creating a problem for my characters to solve, trying to make the villains scary but with lessons to teach.

Environments

Learning how to create immersive environments that are pleasing to the eye and tell an unwritten story is essential to becoming an illustrator. Being able to make people feel before they know. Learning and studying composition, perspective and proportions helped me speed up my process.
